I won’t be going to Oslo cause my boss couldn’t find anyone to cover my shift. I’ve been pretty mad about it since they told me. I NEVER take a day off and now they can’t find someone to cover for me for one day.. Gah.
I worked all week pretty much, only had Wednesday off. Was on the phone switchboard Monday, Tuesday and Friday and then in my reception on Thursday. I like the phone switchboard cause the day passes really fast cause there’s always something to do but I hate it cause I get so annoyed at the people who call haha. I still wanna say “No” when someone calls and asks “Do you speak English?”. Just to see what kind of reaction I’d get 
There’s a new Apple store opening up tomorrow, and I’m gonna get up hecka early (store opens at 7am) and get a 30 gig iPod for $60.. I’m also considering getting a MacBook, cause it’s such an awesome deal and I’ve kinda always wanted a Mac.. Hopefully they have some left when my cousin and I get there.
Been a pretty quiet weekend, I was too tired to do anything really. I went to watch “Sex and the City” in theaters yesterday with Gro and Sarah. Sarah’s baby is due really soon now, July 9th! I can’t wait to see it. Sarah is so cute pregnant

My cousin arrived here this morning. I haven’t seen him in like two years, and he’s going to be here till August to work hehe. Having fun so far though It’s funny cause he’s my youngest cousin and I still remember when he was an annoying kid, following me and his two older brothers around XD.

Got my nails done today A friend of my friend and co-worker is a nail design student, and she needed more practice so I figured it’d be nice to get my nails done hehe. My appointment was at 4:30pm and we were done around 6:30. Not bad at all. It’s kind of hard to adjust to having really long nails though, haha. My nails aren’t usually short but they’re not exactly long either. It looks pretty though. I came home, went back out to 3 or 4 stores to buy a nail file, and none of them had any… Turns out my mom had bought some though, so I filed my nails and then painted them with a french manicure
Now, on to the topic! There was a big update in Final Fantasy XI yesterday, followed by an emergency maintenance today (no big surprise there XD). They added NMs and gear and a bunch of other stuff. Log on after today’s maintenance, kill Simurgh (no drop) and Drooling Daisy (for some new quest where you’re supposed to kill a lot of NMs) and then we found Ixion up in Rolanberry. As this was a new NM, there was no strategy on it or anything, and most of us didn’t even think it was killable..
Was a pretty long fight, and it was not easy.
But, we won I think we were maybe second linkshell server-wide to kill it

I’m fiddling around with themes (layouts) right now, I don’t seem to have much luck being the perfectionist I am, there’s always SOMETHING missing with the themes I really like, hehe. And not being good with html and php, I don’t know how to fix it. Oh well.
I still have to edit the Japan posts, or maybe I’ll just write a really long one along with pictures.. We’ll see. Such a hassle though because it’s going to take forever and a day to go through 700+ pics.
I’m off work till Friday! I wish I’d found out before, but really it was my own fault. I was dumb and didn’t check my work schedule (we get emailed our schedules 2 weeks before the month starts or so), I actually have my whole schedule for the entire summer… Had I known I’d been off I would’ve gone to see my sister, or went with my mom to Sweden..
Summer is definitely here The weather’s been really nice for the past two weeks, but today it got a little colder - figures since I have the week off!
FFXI stuff - my whm is lvl 71! Only 4 more lvls to go now.. Been exping with a few friends lately which helps the boredom, moreso Guppie, a long-time good friend of mine. I try to pick up Doa’s paladin, and he comes with Suzy who’s lvling bard, and it just makes it so much easier hehe.
DH has gotten KV like.. 8 days in a row or more? Maintenance now though so we’ll see what happens after. This update should be good though!
Mm, sleepy at work.. Jason installed the latest version of wordpress, and I don’t think it’s compatible with LJ-cross post but I’m not sure. I’ll check once I’m done writing this.
I only had about 3 hours of sleep, and I work for nine and a half hours… Not too fun but it’s manageable I guess. Working tomorrow too, but in the evening. I’m supposed to have some drinks with my co-workers later today, and I’m hoping I won’t be too tired when I come home so I can actually go. I haven’t really been out-out since the weekend of May 17th.
Haven’t really had time to edit my Japan posts. I think I’ll might just copy/paste them from Gary’s blog, haha. Then again I’ll need to add pictures.. Most of my Japan pics are on facebook though, so if you’re on there add me and you can see them
I’ve started to fill out forms for my US visa and it’s such a pain in the ass cause there are so many of them. I think I’ll have to call the US embassy today and ask what I’m supposed to send now, and what I’m supposed to bring with me to the interview.. I gotta get a full medical check-up too which will cost me 2500 NOK (about $500 usd..). I gotta get all sorts of tests and bloodwork, and also a chest x-ray. I still don’t really want to live in the US, but Mark doesn’t want to come here.. So we’ll see.
Game-wise - currently lvling my white mage! It’s at 66, and I’m hoping to get it to 68 before Sunday evening. Goal was to hit 75 by the end of next week, but that’s not going to happen cause work is sending me on a 4-day course from Monday to Thursday.. Kinda sucks, but I get 3 nights at a hotel and (I think) all meals included. Apart from lvling whm, nothing exciting has really happened in the world of Vana’diel. LS did Odin on Wednesday, but I didn’t have clearance.. But oh well, next time!
The weather has been totally awesome here for the past week. About 70 degrees every day and sunny! I haven’t really taken advantage of the weather though, except for Kitan and I went on a long hack yesterday which was nice
My friend Marina is moving to Ibiza on Saturday for 3 months, and I need to find a week where I can go visit her. Ibiza is not really my type of place to vacation cause I think most people go there just to get shit-faced, and that’s so not my type of vacation.. But since she’s moving I might go and enjoy nice weather and a different scene for a week.
Got my wisdom tooth surgically removed today. Everything went okay though. I’ve had all my 4 wisdom teeth removed, and only one could be pulled normally, had to have the rest surgically removed cause they were growing underneath. The one they took today was growing horizontally under my other teeth, haha. At least it’s all done now I’m on painkillers so I’m doing quite okay.
Found a dress to wear for Jason and Reiko’s wedding It’s a little expensive, but it’s gorgeous, and I’m going to buy it tomorrow :D. Now I just need shoes, and then I’ll probably have to buy some summer clothes as Japan should be quite warm when I’m there.

Returning to Vana’diel
After my almost two month break from Final Fantasy XI I returned today… Wasn’t really any drama behind my break or anything, I just had enough, game was getting repetetive and I just wasn’t having any fun. Mark’s account getting jacked and then banned (still unsure about it being banned, when he called up Square-Enix they just said the account was closed indefinitely, I’m not sure exactly what that means, but he guessed his account had been hit with the banstick), it just wasn’t as fun playing anymore, since we used to play together. And it got really boring playing bard all the time, but I think I can deal now :). Mark is now playing WoW, I have an active account, and will probably play WoW some, along with FFXI. I don’t think I’ll be as active as I was, moreso no more staying up till 6-7am. I’ve finally managed to get a decent sleep schedule, and I’m rather content with everything, and I’d really like to keep it that way
Let’s see…. I worked till 6pm last Friday, and was only going to stop by the phone switch board before I went home, cause Sivi was working.. A quick stop turned into four hours, which means I was there till she was done, haha… I was planning on staying home on Friday and going to bed early, but I decided to go out with Sivi, Melisa, Rizwana and Zeppa (Rizi’s sister) instead. Yeah I WAS going to go out and just say hi and have a drink and then go home, but I ended up staying out till around 1:30am, which isn’t so late, but I had work on Saturday! I was really tired, good thing the phones were quiet.. I brought my external harddrive with me to work and watched Lost and Grey’s anatomy all day. Some workday huh? Went out again on Saturday Sarah was having people over cause it was her fiancee’s birthday We drank at her place first and then we all went clubbing. Amazingly enough, even with a bigger crowd, we all managed to stay together and go to the same bars and clubs! It was a lot of fun. I’m still waiting on pictures (Gro took pics I think) and then I’ll upload some..
We had a firedrill course at work today, which was actually a lot of fun, and we learned from it. So instead of just working from 2pm till 9pm, I worked from 2 till 5, then had the course from around 5 till 8 My workday went pretty fast that way, which was probably a good thing..
No plans for Saturday yet! I work till 9pm on Friday and then I’m supposed to go over to Ali’s and hang out since I haven’t seen him in a while.. I’m fairly certain I’ll end up drunk and barhopping though, but we’ll see 
To answer Jason’s question first: I don’t think I like being the oldest because my parents expect more of me, I dunno heh. That’s what it feels like anyway!
This week hasn’t been bad so far. I trained this girl at work on Monday, yesterday I had to move receptions and today I’m in the main reception here, which is quite fun cause there’s always something going on, and I get to go home at 2:15! Which is 2 hours earlier than my usual shifts. And even better, I might get tomorrow off. A 4 day weekend would be nice.
Game-news, Mark and I got a trial to DH, and so far it’s been fun but quite busy. I like that they’re always doing something though, sure beats the hell out of staring at my moogle lol. Hopefully when our trial is up we’ll get in.
Oda was here last weekend but I didn’t get to see her much cause I was too tired. I’m planning on going to Oslo sometime in the fall though, so I’ll just see her then.
My parents are coming back on Thursday. Mom’s been in Oslo and Sweden. I don’t think I get a vacation this year…
